Most Read from Bloomberg Phoebe Gates Knew Phia Shopping App Took Credit for Sales It Didn't Drive Trump Weighs Call for Capital Gains Tax Cuts as Midterm Boost Tata Sons Chairman to Step Down, Deepening Leadership Turmoil Five Takeaways From Zuckerberg's 6,500-Word Manifesto on AI Epstein Victim Files Cleared for Release Over Maxwell's Protest As the latest reporting season nears completion, all signs are indicating the second quarter was one of the best three-month periods in recent memory with profit growth running at more than 30%. The only problem? That torrid pace is unlikely to last. The consensus currently expects growth to fall below 20% in the first quarter of 2027 before moderating into the mid-teens for the full year, according to strategists at Bank of America Corp. While in isolation those rates are healthy from a historical standpoint, the market often has been less supportive when earnings growth decelerates from elevated levels. It's a recipe that potentially could place next year's stock market in the weakest phase for equities: When earnings-per-share growth is above trend but decelerating, the S&P 500's median 12-month return is 6.7% with a hit rate of 72.3%, according to BofA. That compares with a median 14% return and a hit rate of 83.3% when EPS growth is above trend and accelerating. Still, the historical data set is very limited when it comes to the type of profit bonanza unfolding this year. BofA strategists led by Savita Subramanian expect growth to remain above 20% in the third and fourth quarters, which would mark four consecutive quarters above that level. Streaks like that have been rare, occurring only 10 times since 1936. The most recent examples have taken place after EPS recessions, the strategists said. Examples include Covid and the global financial crisis. And the growth rate is not the only standout statistic for the second quarter reporting season. S&P 500 Index profits are also heading toward one of their largest beats on record versus analysts' estimates, according to Citadel Securities. Scott Rubner, head of equity and equity derivatives strategy at the firm, noted that companies are also driving the steepest earnings-estimate revision path in at least 26 years. "Importantly, this is not just an AI story," Rubner wrote in a note published on Tuesday. "The macro debate remains complicated, but the message from corporate America is much simpler: earnings are better than expected, and by a wide margin." Story Continues Overall, 85.2% of companies exceeded Wall Street's EPS expectations through Monday's close, which is the highest percentage since 2021, data compiled by Bloomberg Intelligence show. Furthermore, only 10.8% of companies have failed to meet expectations, which is the lowest number in three decades. The S&P 500 gained 0.3% on Wednesday as investors cheered better than expected quarterly reports from companies including CoreWeave Inc. and Super Micro Computer Inc. The question now: Is this is as good as it gets? Ben Inker, co-head of asset allocation at GMO, said that earnings have been "extraordinary" in the second quarter. However, there was a difference between the artificial-intelligence space and the rest of the market. Much of the latter can have its good earnings attributed to a "cyclical upturn." "If the upturn continues, it is very likely to push up inflation and interest rates, and if it falters, companies are likely to disappoint relative to upgraded forecasts," said Inker. Every day the Zacks Equity Research analysts discuss the latest news and events impacting stocks and the financial markets. Stocks recently featured in the blog include: NVIDIA Corp. NVDA and Western Digital Corp. WDC. Here are highlights from Tuesday's Analyst Blog: Chasing NVIDIA? Western Digital May Be the Smarter AI Bet Key Takeaways: · Western Digital's Q4 revenues rose 44% as strong storage demand fueled top-line growth. · WDC expects Q1 FY27 revenues of $4.1B and gross margins of 55%-56%, signaling continued momentum. · Strong cash flow and margin expansion could support WDC's earnings growth and further share-price upside. With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), NVIDIA Corp. has emerged as a prime beneficiary, with its shares soaring and helping the company surpass a $5-trillion market capitalization. The rally has been fueled by incessant demand for NVIDIA's advanced chips and CUDA software platform. Given NVIDIA's remarkable AI-driven growth, investors would be tempted to buy the stock. However, NVIDIA's gains have been subdued this year, up only 16.7%. Even though the broader tech sector has remained resilient, investors are increasingly concerned about a potential slowdown in AI spending and its impact on NVIDIA's earnings, which have so far remained phenomenal. Tighter restrictions on chip exports to China and stiff competition could also weigh on NVIDIA's growth trajectory. Against this not-so-encouraging backdrop, investors should consider other beneficiaries in the AI ecosystem, such as Western Digital Corp., whose shares have surged 154.5% this year and have further room to scale upward. Western Digital continues to benefit from AI-driven demand for high-capacity data storage. Let's explore in detail why Western Digital could be a smart buy now – WDC's AI Tailwinds and Earnings Growth Create Further Upside Western Digital recently reported revenues of $3.75 billion in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2026, up 44% from a year ago, according to the company's press release. The company's top-line growth isn't due to cost-cutting or acquisitions; it is primarily driven by strong demand for storage products. Further, the company expects revenues of $4.1 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, plus or minus $100 million. At the midpoint, this would represent 42-49% year-over-year growth, indicating that revenue growth is expected to carry into fiscal 2027, and the robust performance reported last quarter wasn't just a temporary surge. Story Continues As storage continues to become a strong component of the AI infrastructure buildout, Western Digital is poised to gain further. The company is therefore forecasting a healthy non-GAAP gross margin of 55-56% for the fiscal first quarter of 2027, up from 54.4% reported in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2026. Further, margin expansion, along with strong revenue growth, could enhance Western Digital's operating leverage, translating into faster growth in operating income and earnings. The company has generated a strong free cash flow of $1.28 billion in the fiscal fourth quarter of 2026, providing the company greater financial flexibility to reinvest in research and development, strengthen the balance sheet, and fund growth initiatives. Hence, strong revenue growth, margin expansion and robust cash flow are expected to continue to boost Western Digital's earnings growth and support further upside in its share price. Brokers also see greater upside potential in Western Digital. The average short-term price target for WDC stock is $664.77, representing a 53.1% upside from its last closing price of $434.30.???The highest price target stands at $1,050, suggesting a potential upside of 141.8%. Therefore, it's prudent for investors to place bets on Western Digital at the current levels to capitalize on its upside potential. He reports to CEO Jörg Herbarth. Popieniuck joins illumynt after 28 years at Dell Technologies, where he progressed from group leadership through senior and principal program management roles before moving into services sustainability strategy. In that most recent chapter, he worked on the question now driving illumynt's market: what happens to enterprise technology after its first deployment, and how manufacturers and their customers recover value from it responsibly. In his new role, Matt leads the execution of illumynt's customer programs from commercial handoff through final delivery, ensuring programs consistently meet SLAs, operational objectives, and customer expectations. He leads the company's Program Account Manager organization, co-owns new program introduction alongside illumynt's solutions team, and will build the company's enterprise program management office as illumynt scales. "Matt spent nearly three decades inside one of the world's largest technology manufacturers, and the last several years of it on what happens to hardware at the end of its first life," said Jörg Herbarth, CEO of illumynt. "He has sat on the customer's side of this table. He knows what a program is supposed to deliver, and he knows exactly what it costs an enterprise when it doesn't. That is the perspective we want owning execution." The appointment comes as illumynt expands its global operational footprint. The company employs more than 180 people across facilities in Burlington, Massachusetts; Columbus, Ohio; Amsterdam; Hong Kong; and St. Petersburg, Florida, and will open the Talorem Innovation Center in Columbus this fall. "I spent most of my career building the programs that put technology into the world, and the last few years working on what happens to it afterward," said Popieniuck. "The intent was never the hard part — the execution was. illumynt has built real engineering infrastructure behind that problem instead of treating it as a logistics exercise, and that is a rare thing in this industry. I'm here to make sure every customer program delivers on what we promised." Story Continues Popieniuck holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Dean College. About illumynt illumynt is a technology-driven leader in AI hardware lifecycle recovery, providing engineering-grade testing, certification, and value recovery for retired AI infrastructure — including GPU grading, chip-level NAND recovery, and liquid-cooled hardware evaluation. illumynt's Talorem platform brings engineering rigor to an industry historically built on logistics alone. Video Transcript 0:04 spk_0 Welcome to Trader Talk. I'm Kenny Pilcari, your host, and today I am joined by Jared Blicky, who's the Yahoo Finance markets and data editor, along with Michael Monahan, who is a partner and portfolio manager at Founder ETFs and the Founder 100 ETF which I thinkIt is a fascinating product. So we're gonna talk about that. Actually, I want to kick that off and talk about that specifically because I think that's a great concept. So, tell the audience a little bit what you mean by the Founder 100. 0:31 spk_1 With the Founder100, we have a portfolio of what we believe to be the 100 best founder-led companies in the US stock market. The reason we chose to do that, we looked at historical data that said that founder-led companies tend to outperform by 3 times versus a board hired CEO. 0:47 spk_0 So give me a couple of examples just so people understand what we're talking about. A couple of companies. 0:51 spk_1 Yeah, so our stump speeches, we own Nvidia but not Intel. We own Dell but not Apple. We own Capital One, not American Express. We own Monster Beverage, not Coca-Cola. 1:01 spk_2 So in these, in these companies, uh, a lot of these founders, so there's a complaint that the super voting shares that they have are actually a detriment to shareholders, but you're kind of positioned the opposite way. You're like, these companies we want to invest in because the founders have a bigger stake. 1:17 spk_1 Yeah, we, we, we've looked at that and that seems to be an emotional statement that people make, but the data doesn't show that. The data shows that the super voting founders outperform. 1:26 spk_0 Well, because they have so much skin in the game, right? So they wanna, I would imagine that they'd want to outperform. So how long is this, your ETF been existed? 1:34 spk_1 So we launched the product December 18th of last year. There's a companion index on Bloomberg that looks, that you can look up under founders that has a 27 year track record. 1:44 spk_0 And so how's you, how have you been performing? 1:47 spk_1 So we went through this apocalypse and uh we did a drawdown then and that's one thing we should talk about is where the drawdowns do and don't happen in these products. But ever since the war, uh, started in late February, we've outperformed the S&P 500 in the war backdrop. 2:02 spk_0 Ithink that's great. I think it's really fascinating. I want to talk more about that, but we have so much other, so much other stuff that I want to get to. And so let's just talk about, we're talking about founders, we're talking about growth. Um, where do we think the next kind of wave?I mean, right now we're in the middle of this AI revolution, which I think is still very much in the early stages. I don't think there's anywhere near being over yet. But talk about, you know, either within that tech space, adjacent tech space, adjacent to the tech spaces, where do we see the growth coming from or where are you seeing it coming from? 2:30 spk_2 So, the products that we use every day, that's not where the, uh, profits are coming from. That's where a lot of the growth is coming from. But, you know, OpenAI, that, that IPO.It's a big question mark right now because he wants a billion dollars or $1 trillion dollar valuation. That's gonna be hard to do. But the further you move away from the AI user, you get from, you know, the data centers to the chips and all the way to electrical and power, that's where the most profits are right now. Right? And 2:55 spk_0 I think that's actually maybe one that's less understood by a lot of the investi
["Market update", "D1EL34
HP (HPQ) closed at $29.07 in the latest trading session, marking a -2.45% move from the prior day. Story Continues Hence, strong revenue growth, margin expansion and robust cash flow are expected to continue to boost Western Digital's earnings growth and support further upside in its share price. Brokers also see greater upside potential in Western Digital. The average short-term price target for WDC stock is $664.77, representing a 53.1% upside from its last closing price of $434.30. The highest price target stands at $1,050, suggesting a potential upside of 141.8%.Zacks Investment Research Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Therefore, it's prudent for investors to place bets on Western Digital at the current levels to capitalize on its upside potential. Consequently, the company's expected earnings growth rate for the current year is 84.4%. The Zacks Consensus Estimate of $18.85 for WDC's earnings per share is up 165.1% year over year.Zacks Investment Research Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Western Digital currently has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). The stock has underperformed the Zacks Computer & Technology sector and the S&P 500 during the same time frame.Zacks Investment Research Image Source: Zacks Investment Research The company has underperformed its peers like Arista Networks, Inc. ANET and Ericsson ERIC. Shares of Ericsson have declined 18.2%, and shares of Arista have risen 34.6%. Nokia Plagued by Stiff Competition, Weakness in the Legacy Business Nokia operates in highly competitive telecommunications equipment markets. In this market, pricing, technology differentiation and customer procurement decisions influence contract awards and long-term profitability. Ericsson, with its robust portfolio strength, remains a major rival. The company is also facing strong competition from Arista in the growing AI networking market as well. Although Nokia continues to strengthen its AI-native networking portfolio and expand relationships with hyperscale cloud providers, competitors are pursuing similar opportunities across 5G, AI infrastructure and future 6G deployments. Maintaining technology leadership while preserving pricing discipline remains essential as customers balance network modernization against capital spending constraints. Nokia recorded €390 million of restructuring and associated charges in the second quarter of 2026. It is to be noted that Nokia now expects €800 million of restructuring charges in 2026 and €700-800 million of restructuring-related cash outflows. This also includes €350 million of China integration charges and another €200 million from additional restructuring, primarily in Europe. The restructuring should improve efficiency in the long run; this remains a major drag for near-term profitability. In the Mobile Infrastructure business, Nokia sales increased 7% year over year, but gross margin declined 70 basis points year over year to 49.3%, while operating margin declined 60 basis points to 11.6%. Mobile Infrastructure remains a major revenue earner for the company. Declining profitability, despite growing revenues, is a major concern. Nokia Benefits From Strength in AI Infrastructure, Portfolio Strength Nokia continues to benefit from its broad portfolio spanning mobile networks, optical transport, IP routing, fixed broadband, software and services. This integrated offering enables the company to address evolving customer requirements across telecommunications operators, enterprises and hyperscale cloud providers. Nokia owns approximately 20,000 patents, including around 7,000 patents essential to 5G technologies. Its 5G portfolio continues to gain traction among enterprise customers, supporting recurring opportunities beyond traditional carrier spending cycles. Network Infrastructure delivered double-digit growth in second-quarter 2026, supported by continued momentum in Optical Networks and IP Networks. Optical Networks business grew 20% year over year in the second quarter, supported by AI & Cloud demand, as well as telecom investment. Nokia is also investing heavily in optical manufacturing capacity, including expanding advanced testing and packaging capacity in Pennsylvania. The company is also developing additional U.S. semiconductor manufacturing capabilities. Management also increased its expectation for full-year Network Infrastructure sales growth to 12-14%, reflecting continued demand for advanced networking solutions. Growing investment in AI infrastructure is becoming a more important long-term growth driver for Nokia. During second-quarter 2026, AI and Cloud revenues more than doubled year over year while order intake reached EUR 2.8 billion. Management noted that approximately half of these long-term orders are expected to convert into revenue over the next 12 months. A key factor is Seagate's data center business, which accounted for 89% of total exabyte shipments in the June quarter. A total of 218 exabytes was shipped in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026 (up 34% year over year), with 195 exabytes shipped into the data center market. The data center segment revenues of $2.9 billion surged 17% sequentially and 57% year over year and accounted for 81% of total revenues. Management noted that AI-enhanced applications are amplifying storage requirements, reinforcing a robust demand backdrop. Seagate Technology Holdings PLC Revenue (Quarterly YoY Growth)Seagate Technology Holdings PLC Revenue (Quarterly YoY Growth) Seagate Technology Holdings PLC revenue-quarterly-yoy-growth | Seagate Technology Holdings PLC Quote Seagate noted that a significant portion of nearline capacity is already allocated into calendar 2028 under long-term supply agreements, with customers looking to extend planning horizons through 2029 and beyond. Seagate's innovation strategy is closely aligned with this demand shift, particularly its HAMR-based Mozaic platform. This technology enables higher areal density, allowing more data to be stored per disk while improving capital efficiency. HAMR-based products represented approximately 40% of Seagate's nearline exabyte shipment run rate at the end of fiscal 2026. Management expects that investments in HAMR capabilities will aid in achieving a mid-20% exabyte growth target. Seagate is also executing its value-based pricing strategy, leveraging solid demand to drive sustainable profitability. With AI adoption accelerating rapidly and cloud demand remaining buoyant, Seagate appears well-positioned to benefit from long-term structural tailwinds. Fiscal first-quarter revenues are expected to be $4.1 billion (+/- $100 million), a 56% year-over-year improvement at the midpoint. However, execution risks remain as it transitions manufacturing from conventional products to newer generations of high-capacity HAMR drives. Further, the opportunity is unfolding in an extremely competitive environment where players such as Western Digital WDC and NetApp NTAP are vying for a larger share of the data storage market. Mapping the Competitive Terrain Western Digital is one of Seagate's closest competitors. Like Seagate, WDC is also witnessing rapid top-line growth amid the AI boom. Fiscal fourth-quarter revenues surged 44% to $3.75 billion. Apart from agentic AI and increasing inference workloads, higher uptake of video analytics, IoT, autonomous systems and cybersecurity data retention are likely to drive storage demand. This bodes well for all the players in this space as it offers strong long-term visibility. Story Continues Buoyed by strong demand trends, WDC expects fiscal first-quarter non-GAAP revenues of $4.1 billion (+/- $100 million), up 45% year over year at the midpoint. NetApp continues to benefit from demand for modern all-flash arrays that support enterprise modernization and AI workloads. In fiscal 2026, all-flash revenues reached $4.2 billion, up 11% year over year, and fourth-quarter all-flash revenues were $1.2 billion, up 18%. Management highlighted that AI deployments drove broad strength along with rapid cloud adoption. The company expects fiscal 2027 revenues to be between $7.325 billion and $7.575 billion, representing 8% year-over-year growth at the midpoint. The guidance indicates a robust enterprise IT demand environment with higher enterprise AI activity compared with the previous fiscal year. Fiscal first-quarter revenues are expected to be in the range of $1.75 billion to $1.9 billion. The move could give NVIDIA another growth engine while increasing pressure on established server CPU leaders Intel Corporation INTC and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. AMD. NVIDIA's Vera CPU is up to 1.8 times faster than x86 processors on workloads. The Vera CPU is designed to work closely with NVIDIA GPUs (graphics processing units), networking and software, allowing customers to build complete AI systems rather than relying on separate CPU and accelerator platforms. This integrated approach could be particularly attractive as AI agents require more computing power for reasoning, planning and data processing. Vera CPU is also gaining support from major technology companies. Anthropic, OpenAI and SpaceX are among the AI organizations planning to adopt the platform, while Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company, Lenovo and Super Micro Computers are preparing Vera-based systems. NVIDIA's AI ecosystem gives Vera CPU an additional advantage and could help it gain meaningful server CPU share. The traction of Vera CPU will further boost NVIDIA's data center end-market business. The company's data center revenues reached a record $75.25 billion in the first quarter of fiscal 2027, rising 92% year over year. Analysts' projections suggest that the growth momentum in the data center business will continue. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for NVIDIA's data center revenues is pegged at $363.78 billion, indicating year-over-year growth of approximately 88%. NVIDIA's Rivals Have Deep CPU Expertise to Defend Their Lead NVIDIA's Vera CPU enters a market where Advanced Micro Devices and Intel have established customer relationships and large server CPU businesses. AMD is the more direct growth challenger. Its data center revenues surged 107% year over year to $6.72 billion in the second quarter of 2026, driven by strong demand for EPYC processors and Instinct GPUs. Advanced Micro Devices is also seeing rising demand from AI workloads, including agentic AI, which directly overlaps with Vera's target market. Its broad CPU-and-GPU portfolio gives customers an alternative to NVIDIA's integrated platform. Intel remains a major force in server CPUs through its Xeon portfolio. Its data center and AI business generated $6.26 billion in the second quarter of 2026, up 59% year over year. Intel's latest Xeon processors are also designed to handle AI workloads, helping the company defend its position as AI increases demand for high-performance CPUs. Story Continues NVIDIA has an important advantage because Vera is designed to work closely with its GPUs, networking and software. However, AMD's rapid growth and Intel's large installed base mean NVIDIA will need to prove that Vera can deliver clear performance and efficiency benefits before it can seriously disrupt the CPU market. What if you'd invested in Arista Networks (ANET) ten years ago? It may not have been easy to hold on to ANET for all that time, but if you did, how much would your investment be worth today? Arista Networks' Business In-Depth With that in mind, let's take a look at Arista Networks' main business drivers. Santa Clara, CA-based Arista Networks, Inc. is engaged in providing cloud networking solutions for data centers and cloud computingenvironments. The company offers 10/25/40/50/100 Gigabit Ethernet switches and routers optimized for next-generation data center networks. Arista uses multiple silicon architectures across its products. At the core of the company's cloud networking solutions is the Linux-based Extensible Operating System (EOS), which was architected to be fully programmable and highly modular. EOS supports leading cloud and virtualization solutions, including Microsoft System Center, OpenStack and other cloud management frameworks. The company co-authored the Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) protocol specification with VMware and was the first to demonstrate VXLAN integration. It has now expanded VXLAN routing and integration. In 2015, Arista introduced CloudVision, a network-wide approach for workload orchestration and workflow automation delivering a turnkey solution for cloud networking. In 2019, Arista introduced 10 new 400G platforms. In the Leaf/Spine High Network Radix category, it now offers two new fixed 32 port 400G switches and a 128 port 100G/32 port 400G modular switch. For the Universal Leaf and Spine category of switching, the company introduced R3 series 100G and 400G products supporting up to 2.5M routes on its 7280R3 series fixed and 7500R3 series modular platforms. Arista introduced a modular family called the 7800R3, a high-density 100G and 400G platform supporting up to 460 Tbps of system throughput. Also, it launched the 720XP Series of fixed Power over Ethernet leaf switches with 60W PoE, enabling it to offer a complete end-to-end solution for cognitive campus Ethernet as well as WiFi-6 wireless Access Points. The company has also expanded AI networking capabilities with AI spine solutions powered by the 7800 platform and introduced XPO high-density liquid-cooled pluggable optics designed for next-generation AI data centers. The company serves five verticals, namely cloud titans, cloud specialty providers, service providers, financial services and the rest of enterprise. Arista's customers include six of the largest cloud service providers based on annual revenues. In the second quarter of 2026, total revenues were $3.04 billion. Story Continues Bottom Line Anyone can invest, but building a successful investment portfolio requires research, patience, and a little bit of risk. So, if you had invested in Arista Networks, ten years ago, you're likely feeling pretty good about your investment today. According to our calculations, a $1000 investment made in August 2016 would be worth $41,409.73, or a gain of 4,040.97%, as of August 11, 2026, and this return excludes dividends but includes price increases. Compare this to the S&P 500's rally of 256.38% and gold's return of 213.11% over the same time frame. Going forward, analysts are expecting more upside for ANET. Arista reported strong second-quarter 2026 results with both adjusted earnings and revenues beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate. It is well positioned as cloud, AI and enterprise customers upgrade high-speed Ethernet networks. Demand spans AI fabrics, core data centers, campus and routing, aided by a stronger supply chain and deeper software automation. Adding to the bullish backdrop, Lenovo's Zacks Computer-Micro Computers Industry currently ranks in the top 11% of more than 240 Zacks industries, with positive earnings estimate revisions helping to support the momentum for LNVGY shares. Lenovo Stock Hits All-Time Highs Ahead of Earnings Best known as one of the world's largest PC manufacturers, Lenovo has increasingly diversified its business beyond traditional personal computers, expanding into servers, infrastructure solutions, services, and artificial intelligence. Continued momentum in PCs, growing AI adoption, and stronger demand for data-center infrastructure have boosted Lenovo's outlook, with LNVGY soaring over 200% year to date and hitting an all-time high of $74 a share in today's trading session. What has magnified Lenovo's double-digit top-and bottom-line growth trajectory is that EPS estimates for its current fiscal 2027 and FY28 have surged over 40% in the last 60 days, respectively. Lenovo's annual earnings are now expected to increase 31% in FY27 and are projected to spike another 29% in FY28 to $5.04 per share. This comes as annual revenue is forecasted to increase over 15% for the foreseeable future, with projections heading north of $100 billion.Zacks Investment Research Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Lenovo's diversified portfolio could be increasingly important as AI-related spending continues to reshape the technology landscape. To that point, Lenovo has positioned itself to participate in AI demand across devices and infrastructure, while its large PC business provides exposure to an ongoing hardware replacement cycle. Agentic AI and enterprise solutions: Lenovo is moving beyond supplying hardware by helping businesses deploy AI agents and applications for areas such as customer service, content creation, knowledge assistants, software development, data management and IT operations. Its AI portfolio includes more than 165 enterprise AI solutions from its partner ecosystem. AI services: Lenovo also wants to monetize AI implementation and management through its Solutions and Services business—helping enterprises determine where to deploy AI, integrate it with existing systems and move projects from pilots into production. Building on this momentum, Datadog raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $4.45-$4.47 billion, implying approximately 30% year-over-year growth. The company also increased its non-GAAP EPS outlook to $2.50-$2.54, underscoring management's confidence in its growth line. Analyst sentiment remains positive, with the Zacks Consensus Estimate projecting 2026 revenues of $4.41 billion, up 28.82% year over year. YTD Price Performance ComparisonZacks Investment Research Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Now, the question arises: is this the right time to add this stock to your portfolio? Let us examine the key factors driving the rise in the share price, the emerging AI opportunity and valuation to assess the stock's investment prospects. Key Q2 Tailwinds Supporting DDOG Stock Datadog's latest results highlight sustained business momentum, driven by growing customer adoption and the expanding role of its platform in managing increasingly complex cloud and AI workloads. Strong cash generation was another key positive, with the company delivering $316 million in operating cash flow and $279 million in free cash flow during the second quarter, translating into a 25% free cash flow margin. Datadog ended the quarter with approximately $5 billion in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities, providing a strong financial cushion to support continued investments in product innovation, strategic initiatives and potential acquisitions. Customer growth and expansion trends also remain encouraging. Datadog ended the second quarter with roughly 33,400 customers, while the number of customers generating at least $100,000 in ARR increased 23% year over year to approximately 4,720, accounting for about 91% of total ARR. Importantly, customers are increasingly adopting multiple Datadog products: 58% now use at least four products, compared with 52% a year ago, while 13% use 10 or more products, versus 7% a year ago. RUM has also surpassed $200 million in ARR and is growing more than 50% year over year. This increasing platform adoption could support higher customer spending and strengthen retention over the long term. Another significant area of long-term growth is platform consolidation and enterprise-level expansion. In the second quarter, Datadog's RPO reached $3.47 billion — a 43% increase year over year — while current RPO grew by approximately 40% during the same period. The S&P 500 composite is up 4% over the same time frame. The company has also underperformed its peers, Corning Incorporated GLW, Arista Networks, Inc. ANET and Cisco Systems, Inc. CSCO. GLW has lost 20%, while ANET and CSCO have soared 38.3% and 23.5%, respectively, in the same time frame.Zacks Investment Research Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Ciena's demand continues to exceed supply, requiring ongoing capacity investments and execution discipline. Also, high customer concentration remains a concern. Let us take a closer look at CIEN's fundamentals, key growth drivers, competitive strengths and potential risks to determine whether the stock is an attractive investment. Factors to Consider Ciena is grappling with ongoing supply constraints as demand continues to exceed available component supply. Management noted that the imbalance between supply and demand persists across the industry, requiring continued investments with suppliers to secure manufacturing capacity and supply availability. These constraints could limit the company's ability to fully capitalize on strong customer demand. Higher operating expenses are another concern as Ciena works to secure supply and support growing demand. The company increased its operating expense guidance to fund supply-security efforts and higher variable compensation. While engineering cost reductions, pricing optimization and disciplined working capital management supported margins, additional spending could weigh on profitability. Ciena also remains exposed to the pace of spending by hyperscalers and service providers. Its growth opportunities depend on continued investments in networking infrastructure as AI workloads expand. Although hyperscalers have raised their 2026 capital expenditure plans and service providers are resuming optical infrastructure investments, any slowdown could affect demand. Supply availability also remains an important factor in converting the company's strong backlog and demand into revenue.Zacks Investment Research Image Source: Zacks Investment Research Nevertheless, Ciena is benefiting from strong AI-led demand for optical networking infrastructure across hyperscalers and service providers, supported by expanding bandwidth needs, rising data center interconnect activity and solid adoption of coherent optical technologies. The company's record second-quarter fiscal 2026 revenue of $1.57 billion, up 40% year over year, reflects this strength. Its backlog increased by more than $600 million sequentially to $7.7 billion, providing visibility into 2027. Story Continues Strong product adoption and new customer wins are further supporting Ciena's growth prospects. The company secured the industry's first multi-rail order for its RLS Hyper-Rail platform from a leading hyperscaler, while DCOM contributed to 88% year-over-year growth in the Routing and Switching segment. Demand for 400G and 800G pluggables remains strong, and the company expects pluggable revenue to more than double from 2025. Direct cloud customer revenue rose 70% year over year, while service provider revenue increased 28%. Improving financial performance and a higher fiscal 2026 outlook also strengthen the growth case. Adjusted gross margin expanded to 44.9%, adjusted operating margin reached 19.5% and adjusted EPS nearly quadrupled to $1.64. Free cash flow totaled $219 million, while cash was $1.4 billion. The Zacks analyst maintains a Neutral view on the company. SpaceX reported relatively modest second-quarter 2026 results with the top and bottom line exceeding the respective Zacks Consensus Estimate. Reusable launch scale and Starlink's expanding subscriber, enterprise and government base support a durable infrastructure advantage. Starship testing and V3 satellites could raise network capacity, while AI compute agreements and the pending Cursor acquisition broaden monetization. The offset is investment intensity and execution. SpaceX is committing substantial capital to compute, satellites and launch infrastructure even as GAAP losses remain. The assets are difficult to replicate, but the risk-reward remains balanced until newer platforms convert investment into more consistent returns. The company reported strong second-quarter 2026 results with both adjusted earnings and revenues beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate. It is well positioned as cloud, AI and enterprise customers upgrade high-speed Ethernet networks. Demand spans AI fabrics, core data centers, campus and routing, aided by a stronger supply chain and deeper software automation. New AI fabric platforms, including liquid-cooling options and scale-across capabilities, support next-generation AI clusters, while campus recognition shows traction beyond hyperscale cloud. However, Arista faces intense competition in cloud networking, AI Ethernet and high-speed switching markets. The company derives a substantial portion of revenue from a limited number of large customers. Any slowdown in AI infrastructure demand or delays in customer adoption could impact its growth. At the same time, robust tech and software earnings helped dispel fears surrounding artificial intelligence (AI) market disruption. While lower rate expectations and strong tech earnings often drive investors toward aggressive growth plays, recent market volatility — particularly among tech firms making massive capital expenditures on AI data centers — warrants caution. For risk-averse investors, steady dividend-growth stocks offer a far more prudent balance of consistent income, lower volatility, and reliable long-term returns at this juncture. These dividend-growth stocks boast a consistent track record of raising payouts, underscoring the balance-sheet strength and cash-flow resilience required to navigate a period in which the traditional growth narrative is being reassessed. Stocks with a strong history of year-over-year dividend growth can help build a resilient portfolio with greater potential for capital appreciation compared to simple dividend-paying or high-yield stocks. We have selected five dividend growth stocks — Dell Technologies DELL, Taiwan Semiconductor TSM, Amphenol Corp. APH, Cheesecake Factory CAKE and GormanRupp GRC — that could be solid choices for your portfolio. Why Is Dividend Growth Better? Stocks with a strong history of dividend growth are typically associated with mature companies that are less prone to sharp market swings, allowing them to serve as a hedge against economic or political uncertainty, as well as broader market volatility. Their steadily rising payouts provide a measure of downside protection. These companies are generally backed by solid fundamentals, making them attractive long-term dividend-growth investments. Key strengths include durable business models, consistent profitability, expanding cash flows, healthy liquidity, strong balance sheets and attractive valuations. A consistent history of dividend growth underscores the potential for continued growth ahead. Although these stocks do not necessarily have the highest yields, they have outperformed the broader stock market or any other dividend-paying stock for an extended period. As a result, selecting dividend-growth stocks appears to be a winning strategy when other key parameters are taken into account. 5-Year Historical Dividend Growth Greater Than Zero: This selects stocks with a solid dividend growth history.
