The deal, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 and subject to regulatory approvals, will bring roughly 65 highly skilled cybersecurity professionals into BAC's technology and security organization. While the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed yet, the transaction could add modest personnel and integration costs as MDSec's specialists become part of Bank of America's broader tec

Experts say putting every dollar toward $35,000 in credit card debt could backfire — here's another approach

shutterstock.com / Pormezz Moneywise and Yahoo Finance LLC may earn commission or revenue through links in the content below. In early 2026, the average American had $6,595 in credit card debt (1). While this doesn't seem like an unmanageable sum, credit card debt comes at a high interest rate and most cards typically set low minimum payments, which can keep people in debt for decades. Unfortunately, some people have far more than the average debt, which can put them in a precarious financial position. Let's pretend, for example, that Laurel is 30, was unemployed for a year and now has $35,000

JPMorgan Stock Rises 0.7% as Bank Calls for S&P 8,000

This article first appeared on GuruFocus. JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM), America's largest bank by assets, rose approximately 0.7% Wednesday morning as its strategy team turned even more bullish on stocks. The bank now sees the S&P 500 (SPY) ending 2026 at 8,000, up from its previous 7,800 target. That grabs the headline. But the real story is earnings. JPMorgan is effectively saying this rally does not need to survive on hype and higher valuations alone. AI spending is exploding, cloud growth is accelerating, and corporate profits are giving bulls something much harder to argue with. Warning! Gur

Global Gas Turbine Orders Hit Record High as Power Demand Surges

Global orders for gas turbines have hit a record high as demand for power generation surges, according to JP Morgan. New gas turbine orders in the second quarter stood at 38 GW, which was 29% higher than orders in the first quarter of the year, the bank said, as quoted by Bloomberg. The increase in second-quarter orders was much higher on an annual basis, too, at 71%, JP Morgan also reported. Of the three big gas turbine makers, Siemens Energy saw the most new orders in the second quarter, at a total of 12.5 GW. General Electric booked orders for 11.3 GW, and Mitsubishi Power saw orders of 5.3 GW. The United States accounted for half of these new turbine orders, the bank said, as demand for electricity surges with the proliferation of data centers. The growth is set to average about 2% each year over the next decade, making new electricity generation capacity critical to supporting the advance in AI and the onshoring of manufacturing. This has led to shortages and long wait times as gas turbine manufacturers don't hold inventory of the machinery. The lead time for new combined-cycle gas power plants jumped to five years in 2025 from three and a half years back in 2023, with costs soaring by 49%, according to BloombergNEF data. Earlier this year, Wood Mackenzie said it expected that gas turbine prices would skyrocket by 195% by 2027, reaching $600 per kilowatt due to a supply squeeze "Driven by increased electrification demand, especially around the expansion of data centers." In the same report, Wood Mac said that at the end of 2025 global gas turbine orders stood at 110 GW, while global manufacturing capacity was only between 60 and 70 GW. "Turbine orders are expected to peak in 2026 as developers attempt to secure equipment for 63 GW of gas capacity additions from 2026 to 2030," the consultancy also said. How the page works

How to read the score

The score shows direction

It describes the weighted balance of qualifying headlines. A score of 50 can mean balanced news or that there is not enough evidence; the status label explains which.

Confidence is separate

Confidence measures depth, source breadth, direct relevance, freshness and agreement. It does not rise merely because the tone is extreme.

Price is confirmation

Weekly price response, trend and fair-value position test whether the market is accepting or rejecting the news. They never rewrite the news score.

What the page does

It measures news already published. It is not a forecast, recommendation or price target.
