JPMorgan Just Upgraded Salesforce Stock. Here's Why.

JPMorgan upgraded Salesforce (CRM) stock to "Overweight" with a $250 price target, citing its attractive valuation at less than 4x sales, which the analyst believes is overly punitive. The upgrade comes despite the stock being down over 20% year-to-date, with JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee dismissing AI disruption concerns and highlighting Salesforce's resilient revenue growth and impressive operating margins. Wall Street consensus also leans towards a "Moderate Buy" for CRM, with an average price target mirroring JPMorgan's, suggesting significant upside potential.

JPMorgan, Goldman, Invesco Test Blockchain Across Wall Street

JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Invesco, and Citadel Securities, along with nearly 40 other firms, conducted a four-hour test in July to assess the viability of tokenized assets on blockchain networks. Overseen by the DTCC, the exercise involved trading stocks and Treasuries, posting collateral, and meeting margin calls to replicate real-world market activities. The primary goal was to determine if these new technologies could operate efficiently while maintaining the security and control of traditional markets, with the DTCC planning for broader adoption by October.

JPMorgan initiates Salesforce stock coverage with overweight rating

JPMorgan has initiated coverage on Salesforce (NYSE:CRM) with an overweight rating and a $250 price target, set for December 2027. The firm anticipates an acceleration in Salesforce's core business in the second half of fiscal 2027 and believes current valuation is inexpensive, pricing in further growth deceleration rather than progress towards its Rule of 50 framework. Salesforce's market-leading position, strong margins, and recent contract wins like the $1.6 billion deal with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs underpin JPMorgan's positive outlook.

A stronger earnings outlook and the potential for AI spending by major hyperscalers to accelerate revenue growth have led J.P. Morgan JPM to raise its year-end S&P 500 target to 8,000 from 7,800 previously. As quoted on Reuters, the Wall Street giant's latest 8,000 target represents roughly a 3.5% upside from the S&P 500's last close of 7,728.20 on Tuesday. This reinforces the increasingly bullish Wall Street outlook, with at least seven brokerages now projecting the benchmark to hit 8,000 by year-end 2026. Additionally, JPM also lifted its S&P 500 EPS estimates to $365 for this year and $420

Experts say putting every dollar toward $35,000 in credit card debt could backfire — here's another approach

While this doesn't seem like an unmanageable sum, credit card debt comes at a high interest rate and most cards typically set low minimum payments, which can keep people in debt for decades. Unfortunately, some people have far more than the average debt, which can put them in a precarious financial position. Let's pretend, for example, that Laurel is 30, was unemployed for a year and now has $35,000

S&P 500 EPS growth above 20% is rare. Why 2027 may be at risk

Investing.com -- S&P 500 companies are on course for 32% year-on-year EPS growth in the second quarter of 2026, following a 30% jump in Q1. This back-to-back earnings run rivals the strongest on record. Bank of America strategists led by Savita Subramanian, noted that such streaks of 30%-plus EPS growth have occurred only 10 times since 1936, with the most recent examples tied to deep earnings recessions — the Covid collapse and the global financial crisis, not the organic AI-driven expansion currently underway. That historical anomaly is now shaping how Wall Street thinks about the equity out

Global Gas Turbine Orders Hit Record High as Power Demand Surges

Global orders for gas turbines have hit a record high as demand for power generation surges, according to JP Morgan. New gas turbine orders in the second quarter stood at 38 GW, which was 29% higher than orders in the first quarter of the year, the bank said, as quoted by Bloomberg. The increase in second-quarter orders was much higher on an annual basis, too, at 71%, JP Morgan also reported. Of the three big gas turbine makers, Siemens Energy saw the most new orders in the second quarter, at a total of 12.5 GW. General Electric booked orders for 11.3 GW, and Mitsubishi Power saw orders of 5.3 GW. The United States accounted for half of these new turbine orders, the bank said, as demand for electricity surges with the proliferation of data centers. The growth is set to average about 2% each year over the next decade, making new electricity generation capacity critical to supporting the advance in AI and the onshoring of manufacturing. This has led to shortages and long wait times as gas turbine manufacturers don't hold inventory of the machinery. The lead time for new combined-cycle gas power plants jumped to five years in 2025 from three and a half years back in 2023, with costs soaring by 49%, according to BloombergNEF data. Earlier this year, Wood Mackenzie said it expected that gas turbine prices would skyrocket by 195% by 2027, reaching $600 per kilowatt due to a supply squeeze "Driven by increased electrification demand, especially around the expansion of data centers." In the same report, Wood Mac said that at the end of 2025 global gas turbine orders stood at 110 GW, while global manufacturing capacity was only between 60 and 70 GW. "Turbine orders are expected to peak in 2026 as developers attempt to secure equipment for 63 GW of gas capacity additions from 2026 to 2030," the consultancy also said. How the page works

How to read the score

The score shows direction

It describes the weighted balance of qualifying headlines. A score of 50 can mean balanced news or that there is not enough evidence; the status label explains which.

Confidence is separate

Confidence measures depth, source breadth, direct relevance, freshness and agreement. It does not rise merely because the tone is extreme.

Price is confirmation

Weekly price response, trend and fair-value position test whether the market is accepting or rejecting the news. They never rewrite the news score.

What the page does

It measures news already published. It is not a forecast, recommendation or price target.
